PPH-Cu Material: The Preferred Polypropylene Filter Plate Solution for Copper Contact Applications

PPH-Cu is a copper-stabilized polypropylene material specifically developed to address the performance limitations of conventional PPH in copper contact environments. It is particularly suitable for filter plate manufacturing, effectively solving the aging and failure issues that standard PPH materials may encounter under specific working conditions. As a result, PPH-Cu has become a preferred material choice for filter plates used in copper-related applications.

In terms of cost, compared with standard PPH filter plates, PPH-Cu filter plates typically come with a 40%–50% price increase due to the additional material modification process. This cost increase is primarily driven by the technical enhancement required to ensure long-term performance under special operating conditions.

 

When conventional PPH materials come into contact with copper, they are highly susceptible to severe thermo-oxidative degradation caused by Cu²⁺ ions. These copper ions significantly accelerate the oxidation process of polypropylene, leading to rapid molecular chain scission, a sharp decrease in molecular weight, and ultimately causing the material to become brittle and crack. As a result, the mechanical performance deteriorates quickly, making it unsuitable for long-term use.

 

The key advantage of PPH-Cu lies in its targeted solution to this problem. Unlike approaches that rely on dispersing copper particles within polypropylene, PPH-Cu utilizes a specialized modification technology that effectively inhibits the catalytic oxidation effect of Cu²⁺ ions. This fundamentally prevents material degradation and significantly extends the service life of the filter plate in copper contact environments.

 

Based on its material properties, PPH-Cu has clearly defined application scenarios. It is strongly recommended for use in filter plates that will be exposed to copper-related substances during operation, such as contact with copper wires, copper components, or copper-containing impurities (e.g., copper salts). In these conditions, PPH-Cu ensures structural stability, long-term durability, and reliable filtration performance, effectively preventing premature failure caused by material aging.
